It’s been months. And months. So much has happened since my last post, I don’t know where to start!
I started working full time back in October, which is one of the main reasons I’ve stopped blogging. It’s surprising how 2 more hours a day can make such a big difference! I feel like I have no free time during the week. Not to mention I dread getting out of bed and going to work every morning. The people are great but the work is so slow and tedious. The extra money helps a lot but I miss my 9 to 3 schedule. It made my job a lot more bearable!
In December I found an internship with a wedding photographer, Emily Koska. I am so excited for this opportunity! I’ll be able to get the experience I need to start my own photography business. And more importantly, I feel like I’m finally getting the chance to have a career that I love. I’ll still be working full time while taking on my internship, so my summer is going to be crazy busy. But it will all be worth it!
In the past few months, Josh’s job has been going downhill. And fast. His company has been taking away a lot of benefits, cutting pay, and giving him fewer hours. It’s been really hard. After a lot of thought, we’ve decided to move from Fargo so Josh can go back to school to get his degree in Special Education. We’ll either be moving to Minneapolis or Corpus Christi, we haven’t decided quite yet. The fact that we don’t know exactly what we’ll be doing in a few months is stressing me out!
After Christmas we discovered that Lilo has diabetes. Beginning in January, we changed her diet to a low carb dog food. Lately, especially within the past few weeks, we’ve noticed that she has gotten really skinny. On Tuesday things took a turn for the worse. Lilo had been throwing up for 24 hours and hadn’t had any food or water. Josh took her to the vet the next morning and her body was basically shutting down from the diabetes. The only solution was to hospitalize her and get her on a regular dose of insulin. So for the past few days, Lilo has been at the vet and Josh and I have had a few crying sessions. We finally got to take her home yesterday. Luckily she will be okay, but it is a lot to handle.
So as you can see, life has been a bit hectic for us lately. With everything going on, I’ve decided I will be taking an extended break from our blog. I want to concentrate on my photography, so you can still visit me at Emily Massey Photography. Once life settles down, I will be ready to write again.
Thank you for following and keeping up with our little adventures!
